This study material is intended as an overview intended to provide overview of Just culture and how it helps healthcare organization to promote improvements in the level and quality of safety culture. Any effective safety culture depends on willing participation of the workforce, the front-line workers who are in direct contact with patients. In health care organizations, these are physicians, nurses, pharmacists, specialists, technicians, and others who can provide key information about patient safety problems and potential solutions. For these workers to come forward and report errors or mistakes, and organizational climate conducive to such reporting must exist – a Just Culture

This material was developed by SPSC to achieve the following objectives:
- Provide an overview of what is meant by a Just Culture,
- Heighten awareness and benefits of creating a Just Culture,
- Provide a description of Just Culture implemented in healthcare organizations and share lessons learned, and provide initial guidelines that might be helpful to others wishing to benefit from the creation of a Just Culture
